Antique handmade Persian sarouk carpet, classic design, 10'4" x 13'3", c-1940, A traditional natural wool floral pattern Persian carpet designed with central medallion on open red field, surrounded by blue navy floral border
This carpet is in perfect condition, high pile throughout of the rug and the two ends and sides are secured.
Excellent size for a formal large dinning room.
The source of this important provenance has been in the village of Sarouk. North of Arak (formerly Sultanabad). Sarouks are known to be of high quality. The pile is usually higher than the average Persian rug and therefore Sarouks are rather heavy and solid rugs, the wool being used is high quality durable wool.
